So….WHY am I not losing weight, feeling better, getting fitter, becoming more productive or just becoming better at reaching my goal or attaining the outcome that I desire.
Why, why and why again?
The answer to this question is not the most convienient, sexy or politically correct response I could possible provide.
However….it’s the most honest, applicable and appropriate at this point.
So here goes….here is the why answer that I can provide which really underlies why people fail to reach their desired outcome.
First….you cannot begin to understand why you are not being successful until you reverse engineer your particular set of circumstances. Where did you go wrong?
What did you do or not do to get to where you are now?
When you understand this and take full responsibility and ownership for this….you can begin to move forward with the necessary changes in your thinking which will translate to resultant changes in your behavious which will stear you in the proper direction. What you have become regarding your own health status is entirely your responsibility and the product of your own choices and additudes over a time continuum.
This is not an excercise in self-blame or recrimination. It’s really about establishing a new level of empowerment which will propel you in the right direction and resultantly change your thinking for the better.
When you change your thinking…..new possibilities become apparent. The realization of any long-term changes in your behaviours that lead to improved health and well-being demands that there is a change in the way you think about many things. This would include who you are, who you want to be and who you must ultimately become to be the new and improved you. You must also understand that your present situation is a culmination of disordered thinking that lead to behaviours which were not condusive to the health outcomes you now require.
When you have a very close look at the WHY…..first assess what you have done to get to where you are now and what your thoughts and attitudes behind all of this were composed of. This examination frequenty leads to a direct answer most of the time.
Think first get your answer and then act next. This is quite often needs to be done to re-evaluate your own unique set of circumstances and re-tool.
Hey….you NEVER give-up your quest at experiencing optimim health and well-being!
When you ask why….be prepared to look inward first and be prepared to evaluate your own thinking processes which lead to behaviours that make you fall short at achieving your health goals!
